Insurance / Damages Guide

THE BASICS

Our Alpha version implements an advanced "break it, you buy it" system. When selecting props for rental, please be mindful of this policy. We are actively enhancing our insurance system for our upcoming Beta launch.

We classify the condition of props into three categories:

Normal Wear and Tear (No Action Required)
Light Damages - Examples include minor scratches, loose seams, minor tears, dents or dings, and loose or missing accessories.
Heavy Damages (Irreversible Damage) - This category encompasses lost or stolen items or any form of irreversible damage.

The distinction between light and heavy damage for props is based on whether a prop can continue to be used/restored or needs to be replaced.

HOW IT WORKS IN ACTION

PRIOR TO RENTAL

When creating a listing, we work with sellers to determine the replacement value of each item. If you opt to rent out an art easel for $40, and its replacement value is $100, this information is provided alongside the prop's description. Light Damages, if applicable, may incur fees ranging from 10% to 50% of the overall replacement value. Our team makes these determinations on a case-by-case basis.

When initiating a rental request, renters will be reminded to confirm their understanding of this system, including their agreement to cover damages, if necessary, post-rental.

POST RENTAL

Upon the return of props to the seller, the seller will complete a prop review form, which includes uploading pictures as necessary, to report any potential damages. This information will be shared with the renter in the event of cited damages. Our team will work with both parties directly to ensure satisfaction.

In the case of cited Light Damages, renters will be contacted by our team and sent a Stripe payment request, amounting to 10%-50% (depending on the extent of the damage) of the prop's overall replacement value. We treat every damage citation with the utmost importance and careful consideration.

In the case of cited Heavy Damages, renters will be contacted by our team and sent a Stripe payment request, covering the full replacement value of the prop.

Non-compliance with our damage policy may result in a permanent ban from our service.
